Cooler Master Launches V Gold Series Power Supplies
by Gavin Bonshor on May 26, 2019 10:00 AM ESTAhead of Computex proper, Cooler Master has unveiled its new V Gold series of power supplies. The 80PLUS Gold-rated PSUs come in in two capacities, 650 W and 750W, are fully modular, and include a 10-year warranty. The new V Gold series succeeds the previous V series models, which are now coming up on 5 years old.
The biggest feature update aside from the new 80PLUS Gold efficiency rating is a new semi-fanless mode. Like several other PSU vendors, Cooler Master is implementing a hybrid cooling mode, where the cooling fan won't come on unless it's needed. In the case of the V Gold series power supplies, the large 135 mm cooling fan will kick in at 40% load, and users can disable this feature (engaging the fan full-time) via a switch at the rear of the unit if desired. Another benefit to the new range is each model has a fully modular design which can help greatly with cable management, with each PCIe cable using 16 AWG gauge wiring. Meanwhile each V Gold series power supply comes with a 10-year manufacturers warranty.
The Cooler Master V Gold series of power supplies are currently available in both 650 W, and 750 W capacities; the 650 W has an MSRP of $130, while the 750 W costs $140. Both models are expected to filter onto shelves in the near future.

Are they any good? Who makes them? Having had to replace six fans on their EVO 212 coolers within 3 months gives me pause about the quality of any of their products...YoloPascual - Sunday, May 26, 2019 - link
