He wouldn't have had the time to answer, he was in full time biatch mode for Jen being part of the PR monkey circle on stage. Just like Sweeney, but no one really cares for what he has to say.
I know its harsh, but taking a look at the answers... Wow... That's not the Carmack of old.
Love my job, since I've been bringing in $5600… I sit at home, music playing while I work in front of my new iMac that I got now that I'm making it online(Click on menu Home) http://goo.gl/nLqdzJ
So he likes the tech (like everyone else) so that must mean he's NV's bitch??
G-sync is clearly a very good thing and solves a big problem thats been around forever. It just needs to become a open standard and available on all monitors, which Carmack also wants.
It's obvious he likes G-Sync but I don't know who besides Carmack would, on stage at NV's own press conference, call out Shield as a poor device for gaming with frame drops and lag. Sounds like the same guy to me.
Really interesting to read the thoughts of these 3 great minds on some of the hot topics in PC/console gaming right now. They should do this quarterly, or annually at the very least.
G-Sync, SteamOS/machines, Mantle, 4K gaming, consoles, VR, it's all in there.
My question is: what does Johan Andersson have to do with Carmack and Sweeney? I know some people may like the games he's worked on, but I can't put Europa Universalis or Crusader Kings in with the likes of the idTech or Unreal engines. Am I missing something?
He's the main architect of DICE's FrostBite 2/3 engines, which are definitely impressive imo and the hot topic with all the Mantle talk and BF4's impending launch.
Ah, I was trying to figure out what company he works for and googled his name, and I was like, "Paradox... really!?" Hahahaha... much better. DICE is at least pushing the GPU hard.
Oh, it certainly is (I lived in Denmark for a couple years, and there are lots of Andersen/Jensen/Christiansen/Jorgensen/Sorgensen/etc. names -- Sweden is similar but often names end in SSON instead of SEN). Still, it's funny that the top hit says "Johan Andersson (Game Programmer)" and it's for a different guy.
I recently got back from a five week trip in Denmark. The thing about Johan there is what it is pronounced as 'yo-han' not 'jo-han'. Also w is 'double-v' and not 'double-u'.
That smart@ss on the amd thread 2 days ago should be eating crow right now as he was complaining about bias at annand with no coverage on this event. I don't see his name listed on this article yet... but he owes you guys an apology.
Hopefully not too unreasonable of a request: please organize the live blog entries in a chronological order instead of the reverse. It would improve the readability tremendously.

They really should do it every year and invite guys from Crytek and Unity, too. Have a Engine Brain Trust. That said, I suspect if nVidia didn't have guys from Crytek, it means Crytek may be about to support Mantle. ;)

nVidia definitely wasn't hiding from Mantle.iniudan - Friday, October 18, 2013 - link
Yes, you are missing there is more then one game developer named Johan Andersson, thus are mistaking the one at DICE, with the one at Paradox.JarredWalton - Friday, October 18, 2013 - link

Yeah they are two totally different guys. Maybe "Johan Andersson" is a common Swedish name?JarredWalton - Saturday, October 19, 2013 - link

Andersson is the most common family name here in Sweden and Johan is also very common. The combination is something you will encounter every day.Kevin G - Sunday, October 20, 2013 - link
