I promise you, some poor guy in a coffee shop will leave that outside monitor on for the world to question his browsing habits.

Yeah, I'm not convinced on the Taichi. I applaud ASUS for innovating, but the Taichi seems like it goes a little too far. I'm satisfied with a Transformer-style design or a Yoga-style design.

Does the Transformer Book come with an extra battery in the dock as well? Or just the HDD? If it had both it would be epic.

Epic it is, then. I'll try and update with tables, but I believe the Transformer has 38Whr in the tablet and another 25Whr in the dock.

That is just the best! I hope you guys review it at some point, i'm sure you will.

I've also read elsewhere that theres 11" and 14" versions but you don't mention them here.

ASUS announced the Vivo tab smart. You guys have a picture on it, but you guys don't mention it at all. It's a 10.1 inch tablet with full windows 8 atom for 500 bucks :)

    It's in there.

Why isn't the Samsung ATIV Smart PC Pro 700T included in this review? It's one of the slickest offerings in Windows 8 hybrids.

Pretty sure this isn't a review, and is a listing of Asus's new products.

Any word on the price of the Transformer Book?
  • PsychoPif - Wednesday, October 24, 2012 - link

Good question. I was buying myself a Surface Pro, but this look like an early chrismas present if the price is right.

None of the reviews and announcements for the Transformer Book that I've seen mention a digitizer though. That kills it for me, and if you've ever had a Wacom-enabled convertible I'm sure you'd be thinking just like me about it.
  • JasonInofuentes - Wednesday, October 24, 2012 - link

None that I saw. I suspect a premium over a similarly specced Core i7 notebook. So, maybe a lot.

I want to know if it still has an nvidia graphics chip in the base. They advertised it as such back in June. If that was cut I'll be very disappointed.

"The VivoTab 11.6” will feature a Wacom Digitizer and stylus for excellent. "

    Excellent what? :)

On here, and on the new website for the Transformer Book I see absolutely no mention of any wacom digitizers. I am utterly disappointed. Why the hell would I want to blow all that money on a 13 inch tablet if it's not pen enabled? No wacom? No compromises my arse! I guess I'm buying a Samsung then.

Seriously, are they ALL MacBook Air clones? (Well, besides the all-in-one / iMac.)

    Wow.
