That being said, I recall that for Kaveri, the biggest gains were at getting to ddr3-2133, and it began diminishing after that. So I'm not sure ddr4-2800 and ddr4-3733 would have that much of an improvement to bevworth the cost.
I'd personally pick Patriot memory instead. The name "Ripjaws" makes my teeth hurt to even think about and yes, I'd avoid a potentially superior product based on its branding alone if the branding decision is triggers that much of a twitch. I really wish g.skill would reconsider that awful name, but they've been selling those things for years so I'm probably one of a small minority of buyers that won't touch that awful stuff.
Yup, I would. Especially when it comes to RAM since the difference in performance is often difficult to distinguish from the margin of error in benchmarks, I would happily avoid the mental discomfort of such awful branding in favor of a different company's product that isn't quite as revolting. Not to say that "Viper" is much better. It summons up all sorts of thoughts about silly company marketing appealing to car and snake people, but it doesn't cause any gore-related thoughts. That alone is work a 1-2% reduction in day-to-day computer performance.
Whenever I hear the word 'viper, I imagine a scary looking venomous snake in alien colors.....very repulsive. Ripjaws only remind me of extinct brown bonny fishes.....not too scary.

The igpu frame rate improvement was fairly linear when we were talking about dd3-1333 through ddr3-2××× in older AMD designs.Novaguy - Saturday, July 30, 2016 - link

Given the amount these will cost, you'd be better off buying normal ram and a dGPULolimaster - Sunday, July 31, 2016 - link

You aren't really that fickle are you? Passing on a superior product because of the name? I've heard sillier things, but wow this is up there.BrokenCrayons - Wednesday, August 3, 2016 - link
