This week we continue to see falling prices in the high end Athlon segment. The Palomino MP 1.2GHz fell $18 this week putting it at $216. The 1.0GHz MP chip fell $10 putting it at $189. These processors can be used in conjunction with AMD 760MP motherboards like the Tyan Thunder K7. Expect Palomino prices to fall significantly once the Athlon 4 is released later this quarter.

The price of the Athlon-C line of processors continued to fall in price slightly this week. The 1.33GHz processor fell $5 this week putting it at $129. The 1.0GHz part saw a $8 price putting at a very low price of $83. Athlon-C require a new motherboard that supports the 266MHz FSB. For pricing information, check out the Memory and Motherboard Price Guide and read our latest comparison to determine what chipset you'll want to pair up with your CPU.

This week, the Athlon-B line of processors saw a similarly weak price drop like it's Athlon-C cousins. The 1.4GHz part dropped a hefty $14, putting it at $174. The 1.2GHz chip saw a $9 price drop putting it at $89. The 950MHz processors saw a steep price reduction of $25 this week.

The Duron line of processors saw little change in price this week. The recently added 950MHz part saw a $5 price drop, putting it at $78. The 750MHz part saw a $2 price reduction.
